Biography
Charles
R.
“Chuck” Kaufmann has been engaged
in the general
practice of law since December 12, 1970, when he received
his license to
practice law. Chuck received his
undergraduate degree from the University of Cincinnati,
where he
received a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. After
graduation in 1963, he enlisted in the Air Force. He
attended Officer’s Training School in San Antonio, Texas. He
served five years on the Air Force. One of
those years he was in Viet Nam
where he served with distinction and was
awarded the Bronze Star, the Air Force Commendation Medal and the Republic of Viet Nam Service Medal. He left the Air Force after attaining the
grade of Captain.
During his
career, he was stationed at Webb Air Force Base in Big Spring, Texas,
where he met his wife, Cleo. This year,
they will celebrate their 41st Wedding Anniversary.
After his
military service, Chuck entered law school at the University of Houston
where he graduated with a J.D. in law and thus began his law career. Chuck has had a varied career, practicing in
a law firm, working as a sole practitioner and as a general counsel for
two
companies. Chuck also served as a
Municipal Court Judge and the Presiding Judge for the City of Spring
Valley,
Texas.
Chuck and
Cleo have three children who are married and living in the
Houston/Galveston
area. They have six grandchildren. Their son is a practicing attorney in Houston, one
daughter is
Coordinator of the Vascular Surgery Department at U.T.M.B. and one
daughter is
a teacher, currently raising her two sons.
